ProHealth Connect’s ePay application delivers equitable access to community and ethnic retailers supporting health plan member’s cultural needs. Their proprietary platform connects community retailers to health plan over the counter (OTC) and grocery benefit offerings. Access is available for qualified merchants who must complete and be accepted via an online enrollment and contracting process.

WHY PROHEALTH CONNECT?

ProHealth Connect is  unique in specifically focusing on local, community retailers to participate in these programs, which have traditionally focused on big box, chain operators.  These programs funnel billions of dollars into the community.  Now local, independent retailers can participate in the spend.  Local retailers are the backbone of communities, yet struggle to compete against national chains.  Now, they have the opportunity to serve the customers that know and love them, but have not been able to shop at their stores with health plan benefit dollars.  The democratization of the benefit is happening, where all applicable retailers are invited to participate and benefit from these programs.  Spending at local retailers benefits not only the retailers, but the community at large as more dollars stay in the community, by a 2 to 1 margin, as compared to chain stores.

Health plan members now have access to the foods and products that they know and love; that connect them to their heritage; that remind them of their birth country; and that allows them to leverage food as the bridge to family and culture.
